1. If 3x+2y=8 and 2x-y=3, find the value of 4y-3x = ?

  • A. -2
  • B. -2
  • C. -2
  • D. -2

Answer: Option A

Explanation:

3x + 2y = 8 - - - - - - - - - (i)

2x - y = 3 - - - - - - - - - - - (ii)

Now, [ (i) + (ii)x2]>>

3x + 2y = 8

4x - 2y = 6

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

3x + 4x = 8 + 6

or, 7x = 14

So,  x = 14/7 = 2

Now, from (ii)>>

y = 2x - 3 = 2 x 2 - 3 = 1

So,  4y - 3x = 4 x 1 - 3 x 2 = 4 - 6 = - 2
